H.A.D.L.E.Y. Players 2008 Season

POWERFUL DRAMATIC PLAY “UNCLE” TO LAUNCH H.A.D.L.E.Y. PLAYERS DYNAMIC 2008 SEASON

NEW YORK: One of New York’s vanguard theatre companies for decades, the H.A.D.L.E.Y. Players, founded by its iconic CEO Gertrude Jeannette (photo-left), has relocated to Harlem’s St. Philip’s Community Center (West 133rd Street (btw 7th & 8th Aves.). Reflecting positive change, H.A.D.L.E.Y. is now operating in partnership with the space’s lease owners, Democracy Prep Charter School, which invited H.A.D.L.E.Y. to continue its program of plays that are both informative and entertaining.

H.A.D.L.E.Y. advises it’s grateful that Democracy Prep Charter School is continuing a partnership that is not unlike the one it shared with St. Philip’s Community Center.

H.A.D.L.E.Y., whose impressive Artistic Director is Janice Jenkins, apologized for its season’s tardy commencement, but promised that, “You will find our premier production well worth the wait.”

That powerful season launching production is, UNCLE, a profound drama about a Georgia baker trying to get landmark status on his bakery to avoid being displaced by Urban Renewal. In the process he stakes his future on his son’s lawyer skills and his bakery’s civil rights history.

UNCLE is written by Eleanor Herman, directed by Henry Miller, and features: Zaria Griffin, Carmen Mathis, William Jay Marshall*, Kevin Kean Murphy*, Charles Miller, Chauncey deLeon Gilbert*, Juan Loney, and M. Younger Roberts (*Appearing Courtesy of Actors Equity Assn.).

UNCLE previews Friday, November 21st and Saturday, November 22nd, at 7:30pm. Freewll offerings (donations only) are welcome.

The UNCLE Gala Dinner Opening will be Sunday, November 23rd at 2:00pm sharp, with H.A.D.L.E.Y’s signature dinner and show honoring a (to be announced) outstanding personality whose contributions have served to enrich the Harlem community.

The remaining shows are November 28-30, December 5-7 and 12-14. / Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30pm and Sunday Matinees begin at 2:00pm.

Lloyd Strayhorn
AstroNumerologist

As a kid, LLoyd, had an interest in all things “weird”, “strange” or “interesting” (Or did it have something to do with him being an Aquarius?)

Lloyd Strayhorn on blogtalkradio ™

Fascinated with the “other world”; the world of astrology and the related sciences, held his time and attention. Despite a background in sales, real estate, insurance, publishing and even music, he seems to have been the happiest if he could figure out a person’s astrological and or numerical chart. After long and intensive years of studying and researching both astrology and numerology, LLoyd emerged as an Astro/Numerologist... perhaps the most renowned authority in this specialized field today!

LLoyd has written numerous books, news/magazine columns and numerous articles on events of the time. He brings to the radio listener and TV viewer, insight and an informative approach to his very unique world. Appearing on national TV shows, such as “Oprah Winfrey”, “Geraldo”, Regis Philbin and Kathy Lee”, “The Montel Williams Show” and "Tony Brown's Journal", etc., along with countless radio appearances across the country. LLoyd has always left the audience mesmerized. His refreshing and warm delivery to the subject of astro/numerology is upbeat, positive, sincere and amazingly on target.

LLoyd, as an experienced radio and TV personality seems to have this impact on stations in every major market. Perhaps LLoyd, born, bred and breathing in New York City has something to do with it.

"It’s obvious he loves what he does"

LLoyd's popular best seller, “Numbers and You”, a Ballantine Publication, is sold in bookstores everywhere.

The Dennis Coffey Band released “A Sweet Taste Of Sin” in 1978 – arranged and produced by Mr. Dennis Coffey. The project features Coffey’s outstanding work on guitars as well.

The funky track is a spin on a sci-fi encounter in this Disco Video Mix along with the 1968 film, “Planet Of The Apes” staring Charlton Heston, Roddy McDowall and Kim Hunter. The script was originally written by Rod Serling But many changes were made to create a more primitive ape society rather than a futuristic as Serling envisioned.

I have used the theme of Coffey’s disco number as the outline for the science fiction premise of the film in a lighter end.
